Lauren Davis is an artist and psychotherapist living in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. She holds an MFA in writing from New York University as well as an MSW from the same institution. She studied sculpture and painting at the Art Students League in New York City. Her figurative bronze piece, “Reaching Through the Shadow,” a 9/11 memorial co-designed with architect James Rhodes is on permanent display at the end of Croton Landing in Croton-on-Hudson. Davis and the memorial committee were awarded a $50,000 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts to complete the project. In 2017, she was invited to the National Association of Women Artists. In 2017 and 2018 she had seven paintings and sculptures accepted into juried shows in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. In 2018, her portrait sculpture, “With one Chain of thy Neck” was awarded Best in Show and was exhibited at the Harlem School for the Arts. Davis also received a gold medal from Audubon Artists Society for sculpture and a Nessah Cohen Scholarship. Currently, Davis' paintings are held in private collections in Baltimore, MD; Monterey, CA; Madison, WI; Albuquerque, NM; and New York, NY. She has had several one-person shows in Westchester County, NY, as well as a one-person show sponsored by Willson and Willson Architects in Albuquerque, NM.
